Safeguarding & Child Protection
At Cedarwood Primary School, we take safeguarding children very seriously. All pupils in our care are protected by robust safeguarding procedures that are in place to ensure that pupils are kept safe and happy and are able to learn.
Safer-recruitment practices are in place and staff, governors and volunteers working in our school are subject to safeguarding security checks and regularly undertake safeguarding training and refreshers. Adults know how to report concerns and pupils know who they can talk to if they are worried about themselves or their peers.
All adults in the school have a safeguarding duty and, in addition, the following members of staff have specific safeguarding and child protection roles:
MEL YOUNGS is the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), On-line Safety Lead, Prevent Lead and Designated Teacher for Looked After Children and Previously Looked After Children
TINA SHUTE and AMY WARD are the Alternate Designated Safeguarding Leads (ADSLs)
NIC SMITH-HOWELL is the Named Governor Responsible for Safeguarding
NIC SMITH-HOWELL is the Chair of Governors and the Named Governor Responsible for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
If you have concerns about a pupil from our school, please do not hesitate to contact MEL YOUNGS (DSL) immediately.
In the event that you are concerned that a child is at risk of serious harm you should make a referral without delay to Customer First on 0808 800 4005 or call 999 to report your concerns to the police.
