How to support your child

General Support for Maths

Supporting your child with Maths can feel daunting, particularly if you were taught different methods yourself. Any help you give your child in Maths, that is supportive and encouraging will develop their confidence and ability. Below are some videos we have produced, to provide support for parents and pupils, on our school's methods and approaches to Maths.

Maths - No Problem! have also produced some useful videos. Click on the Maths - No Problem! image below to take a look at these.

Help with Learning Times Tables

Learning the multiplication tables, or 'Times Tables' as they are often known, is a key skill that will help children with Maths. Fast recall of the facts means that children can use apply their knowledge easily to a range of situations with little effort. Having a multi-sensory approach to learning Times Tables will help cement this learning and in turn enable children to commit their learning to the long term. Below is a guide for parents on supporting children's learning in this area.

If you or your child would like any further advice or support with Maths, Mr Robert Parker, our Maths lead will be delighted to help.
